A short walk in the New Forest, the picture below is scum on the surface of the water in a blocked stream it looks like I have modified this picture it shows the actual pattern made naturally.
There were lots of Redstarts on the edge of the woods but all were just too fast for me to catch on camera. I also saw a few treecreepers These small birds run up and down tree trunks looking for insects.
In my 1st picture, you can see how good the camouflage of this birds plumage is against the bark of the tree.
Carnivorous Sundew plants were just coming into flower the sticky drops on their leaves traps small insects which they digest.
Foxgloves are at their best in June in Hampshire
Orchids were also in flower.
