Balls of fluff.

The Black-headed gull chicks have grown over the last few days and are becoming more independent – walking off the nest site. They are about the size of a tennis ball with legs!

  1. I just love their speckled plumage. That second photo you have with the reflections is amazing – shows the entire reflection of one chick and the parents flying in the background. Today I did the last post for the robin brood I followed in the nest in the tree at Council Point Park. They fledged and so I saw them in the tree for two days after leaving the nest, but this morning they were nowhere around. I am surprised to think that how they look after hatching and how large and able to fly within 13-14 days. Quite amazing their before-and-after photos.
