Bird’s at the seaside

I went down on the foreshore to take some pictures of the sailing in the Solent but was distracted by a small flock of Oystercatchers running around on the waters edge. I have posted pictures before of this wader, which is a favourite of mine, but could not resist in posting some more views,

My understanding is that Oystercatchers have 2 different types of beaks one is more adapted for eating worms the other is better adapted to open shell fish such as mussels.

The differences are seen in the  last 2 pictures.
