Pied Wagtail

A small, long-tailed black and white bird. They are often seen dashing about in search of food. It frequently calls when in its undulating flight. Sometime ago I recall a small child saying to his father “daddy what’s that bird” answer “a Magpie” we all have to start somewhere.

The Pied Wagtail can be seen all over the UK but leave the north of Scotland in the winter months. They live on a diet of insects.
