Pier lighthouse

Salt Island is joined to the top of Anglesey in North Wales. It provides a natural provider of shelter for the town’s Old Harbour & fishing port from the Irish Sea.


The current Lighthouse, a Pier Light is a conical white house which was built in 1821.The Lighthouse was designed by the civil engineer John Rennie in 1821. It is thought to be the second oldest lighthouse in Wales, after Point of Ayr Lighthouse.
